About me
Hey! I’m Yeison Daza, a product engineer based in Medellín, Colombia. I’ve spent about 10 years building digital products at fintech startups across Colombia, Mexico, and the US, working remotely.
From frontend to product
I started out deep in frontend land — JavaScript, React, web performance, accessibility. But over the years I realized what I enjoy most isn’t any particular technology, it’s solving problems for the people using what I build. These days I think of myself more as a product engineer, focused on finding the best solution for the user regardless of where in the stack it lives.
Why I write
Because it helps me understand things better. If I can’t explain something simply, I probably don’t understand it as well as I think. Plus, I genuinely enjoy sharing what I learn — there’s always someone a step behind on the same path.
I’m also really curious about how AI and LLMs are changing what it means to be a developer. It’s a fascinating moment and I want to explore those ideas here, thinking out loud.
